This is set out in the State Emergency Management Plan – Health Emergencies Sub-Plan.
Each PHN compiles, maintains and updates a register of primary care providers able to assist in the event of an emergency.
Victorian PHN activities include:
- participating in local, regional and health service emergency planning
- consolidating across-the-board planning and responses, based on a shared calendar, education and training
- facilitating access to and communicating with primary care providers
- providing intelligence on local factors affecting the delivery of primary health care in impacted areas
- working collaboratively in the provision of recovery services following an emergency.
