VTPHNA response (2019): Victorian Auditor-General’s Office Review of Child and Youth Mental Health

The Victorian Auditor-General’s Office (VAGO) worked with the (then) Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and five Victorian health services to assess the effectiveness of the public mental health system in preventing, treating and managing child and youth mental illness.

VAGO was interested in the work that Victorian PHNs were doing in this space, and requested information on:

  • commissioned programs, services, projects for children and young people through the PHN mental health flexible funding pool
  • completed reports on the population health data and service needs of children and young people with mental illness within each respective PHN catchment with an indication of whether these reports are publicly available.
