Infection Prevention and Control Helpline update

    By mpcn | News | 0 comment | 2 October, 2023 | 0

The Infection Prevention and Control Helpline, funded by the Victorian Department of Health, was made available in June 2021, to ensure patient and staff safety was maintained during the pandemic.

Now that COVID infections no longer warrant an emergency response and primary care providers are proficient in infection prevention and control processes, the dedicated Helpline ceased on 30 September 2023.

Standard and transmission-based precautions help prevent the spread of all infectious diseases, including COVID-19. For more infection prevention and control guidance, see the list of available resources below.

    • RACGP and APNA Infection prevention and control guidelines for general practices and other office-based and community-based practices (the IPC guidelines) fifth edition
    • Victorian Department of Health COVID-19 Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines
    • VICNISS eLearning modules

Should you require further infection prevention and control supports, please reach out to your local PHN.
